Ok the motor in my 96 chevy siverado went bad its a 5.7L 350 Vortec Motor. Well I have a regular fuel injected 350 (not a vortec but has vortec heads) thats in my 88 suburban. My dad said I should be able to put the one from my suburban in my truck. Will it work? If so is there anything ill have to change?

You'll have to put all of your 96 stuff on the old motor. The heads may not line up with the intake on the old motor to new one as that bolt pattern on intake was changed about then Also the bolts on the 96 are metric that do the accessory drive so all that stuff will have to be replaced or see if some of the old bolts work in old motor. You r timing cover will have to be changed to the newer one as well for the crank sensor as your 96 is obd2 and theother obd1. Just make sure you have all the sensors that you need for it.

As long as you hook up all the sensors form the 96 then you will be ok. But you need to change the items I said previously. It will not run with the 88 items in it even if you replaced the computer.

Just make sure all your sensors hook up from the 96 they should be the same if it's a 350. However ifit is anewer ls motor it will not work at all the two are easy to distinquish between the ls andold small block. You shold be able to use any motor between 96-99 as long as it's a small block and use your upper end stuff.
