Transmission problems

1996 Chevrolet S10 4wd pickup will not go when in drive. Will go in 1st gear and reverse. Once in 1st and going can put in drive.

Probably a shift valve problem, this should be inspected by a trans tech ASAP.

I would only drive it as far as a auto service centre, you may do damage to the transmission driving to far, better to be safe than sorry, get it tested and a report so you know where you stand before committing a heap of $$$
