1996 Chevrolet S-10 transmission

Changed engines, transmission started shifting hard and when you stopped at stop sign it won't down shiftvautamatically. You can shift it manually. After truck get to normal temperature you can shut it off and restart it and shifts perfect as long as truck don't sit for 5 or 6 hour and you have to go through process again. Have checked engine grounds, had shifting selenoid changed, changed ignition switch, changed computer

Check fuses underhood you may have blown a fuse and recheck your connections.

Didn't have problem with changing before motor change, getting code p1886

That code is a shift malfunction on 3=2 shift. But it won't stop the vehicle form starting. Try a different key the one you are using may set off security system not letting it start.

Used a different key this morning, had to do same thing. Manually down shift transmission until it reached running temperature, shut engine off, restart truck and it shifts fine until it sits 4-6 hrs and then the same routine

Have a trans pro scan it as his scanner can do a lot of other things to test it. I hav eno further suggestions.
