1996 305 vortex Cheyenne.
I'm getting a P0300 code. Solid SES light, after driving it flashed on a 300 mile trip. Flashed again 30 mins later and again a few minutes later. It's running smoothly. I'm doing spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. But don't think it's it?
Recently had timing chain cover, oil pan gasket replaced. But SES light was on before then. Smells a little like burning oil. Other than that it starts and drives fine. Please help. Thank you.

Finish your tune up first. It may be the issue.

We need the code for the ses system to further help you

Okay Roy, I ran the check myself. First time I've done this. I'll have to research how to get the code because I thought the P0300 was the code. Caused by random multiple misfires. You're saying it should give an additional code? Thanks for you help so far.

A basic code reader may not read this system. You may have to go to a shop for this system to retrieve a code

I took this into the dealer, he couldn't pull any other code. But I replaced all the spark plugs and now I'm getting a p0308 code. Where should I go from here? Wires?
