1996 chevy caprice 5.7
theft deturent fuel disable circut code pops up. P1626. It runs for up to 5 seconds then dies.. Its not a resister key. Now all of a sudden my obd 2 wont even read any more. ITs a old cop car.. 5.7 L

Try this turn key to on no start if theft light is on leave key on may take 10min light may blink let it until it stops turn off try and start . sometimes takes three trys to get it started.roblem is chip in IGN switch sometime key gets worn and does not push pins in far enough
