3800 series 2 engine will not run at all, the security light does not stay on or blink and have tried with 2 different keys in case it was the pass key or VATS. if the car sits a couple minutes it will almost catch and then just turn, try again right away it only turns, sit again for a couple minutes and almost catch again, holding pedal part way does nothing to help.
when i check for fuel or spark there is none at all yet it does almost catch on first try. i let the car sit overnight and the next day it actually started but then stalled a few seconds later like it was running out of fuel. i have dealt with bad VATS or passkey and the light will flash or stay lit and the car will run for a second and die, this particular issue is not acting like that.
i checked the fuel pump relay, ignition relay and fuses under the hood, none are blown or bad.

fuel pressure zero, spark none
if it sits a couple minutes the pressure is 20's for a brief second then none.

sounds like the fuel pump has failed. verify power to the pump with key on for the first 2 seconds

does that also stop the spark?
you never hear the fuel pump turn on but the car almost catches after it sits a couple minutes every time.

try spraying carb cleaner in the air filter and see if it start ups for a couple of seconds. this will verify spark and verify fuel pump

negative, makes no difference, the only way it almost starts is to let it sit a couple minutes otherwise it only turns over.
