Hey how you time a 1995 VW Passt GLS

Hi I got a 1995 VW Passat GLS 2.0 Front Wheel Drive 5 speed I want to know how you time it right runs good but at about 2500 to 3000 RPM's stumbles a bit when I have the timming light on it the wheel is about 1/2 a inch to the left of where it should be how I get it to line up thanks Sean

Loosen DIST hold down bolt adjust to 5-7 BTDC

I tryed all that when timming the car had the timming gun is there somting in the CFM that is not making it run right?

Disconnect I think blue wire to coolant temp semsor and idle needs to be 700

I took off the collant temp wire still cant get it to time right when you start the car the lines line up then it moves 1/2 inchs about to the left

Does light have a degree adjuster? Cause after start up spark control may be taking control so if timing is 27-33 at 4500 rpms then it is set.

Its about right now with timming but before the car stoped working was getting 30 just driving around and upt 38 to 42 on highway not I get 27 up to 30 at best?

Was not sure what was wrong with the car put a new crank sencer then dipt turned out to be the coil was bad runs now but I dont have as much BHP or as good miles to the gallon as I did before it stoped working at around 2500 to 3000 RPMS it lugs a bit other then that runs aright
