can a bad magnetic pickup in distributor cause the car to hesitate and***** from what feels like someone turning the key off for a second? 95 corolla LE. No module in distributor.
Coil is new. throttle position sensor new, fuel pump new, timing belt and pulleys new, crank position new. End idles smooth and runs smooth if not going through this.

I'll donate if you hit the target.

If the pick-coil is out specs it will cause your problem and also the following below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
