1995 Toyota Carina Repair Question

Toyota Carina Spark Problem
Hi,
I have toyota carina e 1.6 1995. Couple of days ago when I was going to park the car in a car parking it just went off. I parked in the bay and tried to restart the car but no use. It does crank but does not starts. I have noticed that check engine light is not coming on when I turn the switch. I have checked there is no spark in plugs. There is no spark going from coil to distribute. I am not sure if this is a spark problem because of no engine check light.
The reasons I can think off is either fuel pump is not working or something else is wrong.
Any advise will be appreciated!!
