If it wont go into 4th gear you should atleast have a code for that how did you check for codes counting the flashing check engine light?Because if you did the transmission codes will flash on the low coolant hot temp light after flashing on the check engine light on that car.

The code 11 means transmission codes present so after the check engine light is done. Flashing those codes out watch the temp low coolant light flash out the transmission codes out.I will have to look up the code 15 doesnt ring a bell. The code 12 is normal to have flash out.

Yes the check engine light quits flashing then the low coolant/temp light to the far right of the cluster bottom will flash the transmission codes. The code 11 tells me there are transmission codes.

The code 15 is coolant temp sensor it sets because the computer sees a coolant temp reading of-35 degrees or less. So you may have a bad coolant temp sensor and or connector if the terminals on the inside of the connector are blue or green instead of silver you will need to replace the connector. Its the bottom sensor with two wires screwed into the head. Also the code 32 is for the egr valve most likely its carboned up and sticking. Remove it and clean the spring loaded pintle with carbon cleaner let it soak for atleast a half hr then clean it with carb cleaner. The code 24 is a no fourth gear code. Do you have a delay slam into reverse?

The next thing I would do is a line pressure test which you need a transmission pressure tester to do that there under 60.I can recommend the one I have if you want which is under 60. After that I would remove the valve body and used compressed air to air check the clutches. You could have a leaking 4th gear clutch piston.

If there is a pressure issue then most likely your going to want to replace the valve body with one that has a sonnax upgrades. Alsoeven if there is a pressure issue your still. Going to. Want air check all the clutches including reverse piston servo.

You dont need a diagram of the valve body your not going to rebuild it. Also you need to do a pressure test on the transmission before you pull the valve body to air check the clutches.I will give you a diagram of which bolts to loosen but not take out to remove the valve body. But first we need to check the pressure itsa needed step I have seen low pressure in drive set codes for 4th gear.I know these transmissions I trained in spring hill Tennessee were they built them for factory training. Also spent over 16yrs working on them at the dealer.

I have an 02 sl1. When I purchased it the car had the reverse slam, hard shifts and no 4th gear. I changed the pressure control solenoid and that fixed the hard shifts. I know I need to replace the valve body for the rev. Slam. I have removed the valve body and air checked the clutches and 4th does not hold pressure. I am assuming the 4th piston is blown. Also, what would cause this? I do get the p0734 and p0732 codes. I checked a trans. In the salvage yard with only 94000 miles and it to does not hold pressure in 4th gear port. Is this a common problem? Thanks
