I have a 95 Plymouth Acclaim with the 3.0L 6cyl engine. Nice car, but it stalls at idle. Its like the idle needs to be adjusted, but I have heard that there is no idle adjustment on these cars. That would lead me in the vacuum lines and emission controls, but that is where I get lost. What could the problem be and how would I check it?

Clean the throttle-body, check the idle air system. Any applicable mil codes? How long since a tune-up?

I will clean the throttle body. I have replaced spark plugs. Put some seafoam in the gas tank as well as thru the vacuum lines into the upper intake manifold. It seems to happen more once it has warmed up. Slowing down for a stop and when I go to put it in reverse. The engine light used to come on, but since I ran that Seafoam thru the system is does not come on. Well it hasnt yet, its only been a few hours and about 25 miles.

You can check mil codes, yourself. You turn the key just till the dsahlites come on, no further. You cycle the key, on--off, on--off, on, then the mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes. I check for codes even if the lite isn't on, just a habit. It's quick, doesn't cost anything.
