1995 Mitsubishi Magna Repair Question

My 1995 Magna TS V6 wagon shudders on take off. When it's slowing down, there is a thunk from under the car and a shudder. Could this be the transmission/gearbox?
New starter motor. not sure what else it could be, possibly spark plugs?

More likely to be transmission or drivetrain related.
