I have a 1995 mitsubishi diamante.the transmission has been slow 2 change into gear for quite a while now but until about 2 weeks ago it has decided 2 start jumping from 5th into 3rd when i accelerate 2 much and wont change out of 3rd when it does unless

check the fluid. if it is ok, then most likely internal failure and the unit will have to be re built.
