On models with air bag system, disarm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
Remove steering column.
Disconnect ignition switch connector.
Remove screws and ignition switch from key cylinder and wire harness clamp, Fig. 15.
Reverse procedure to install.
On models with air bag system, rearm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information. If audio system was disabled, activate as outlined under Technician Safety Information.

The switch unbolts from the lock cylinder. You can use the old one. Just get the new lock cylinder assembly.

Ensure front wheels are straight.
Using Torx wrench T30, loosen steering wheel pad retaining screws. Loosen screws until groove along screw circumference catches on screw case.
Pull wheel pad out from steering wheel and disconnect air bag electrical connector. When removing air bag, ensure not to pull air bag wire harness.
Remove steering wheel set nut, then place scribe marks on steering wheel and main shaft.
Using steering wheel puller tool No. 09213-31021, or equivalent, remove steering wheel.
Remove connector from spool body, then separate harness holder.
Remove spiral cable subassembly.
Remove steering column, Figs. 1 through 4.
Reverse procedure to install.
