So how are you figuring out your gas mileage?Also the sending unit isnt going to effect gas mileage.

I cnt really tell if I got gas or not cuz when I put gas in the fuel gauge seems like it doesnt go to the same level it usually would with the same amount of money. And it just seems like im burnin gas cuz it gets to E kinda fast even after puttin gas in it

Heres how you figure gas mileage fill the car up till the pump turns off. Then reset your trip odometer drive the car atleast 200 miles then fill the car back up till the pump turns off. Then divide the miles driven on the trip odometer by the gallons of gas it took to refill the tank. That will tell you overall gas mileage not using how much it cost to fill the tank the price of gas is up and down. Also you cant use a gas gauge working ir not to figure it out ethier.

Thats a tough question because all ecms dont always fail in the same way. What I do is rule everything else out and suspect the ecm last.

Ok today the engine light came back on the parts I exchanged on my egr valve were from da junkyard that may be the cause but I seriously believe they gave me a bogus code im gne get a scantool for my car on the 1st of the month and get the codes myself.

Yesterday evening a friend of mine that owns a shop scanned my car with a snap on scantool n he said the computer wasnt communicating with the scantool. What do you think that was? Also I wanted to know what scantool I could get to scan my car

I would think something was wrong with the guys scan tool since pep boys was able to read your codes. So do you have a 16 pin connector for your scan tool to hook up?

I think so I dnt know im gne check I know its underneath the steering column and I got a data link connector under the hood.

Iam not real familar with aftermarket scan tools I mostly used the Tech2 and tech1 scan tool all the gm dealers used.I have the actron obd1 and obd2 scan tool with the domestic obd1 connectors and universal obd2 connector. It only does domestic obd1 cars iam not real impressed with it But it reads codes on the engine with some live data and reads transmission codes.

Yea I think its gonna have to be obd 1 and 2 I think my system is obd1 just a matter of gettin the best tool I can get for my bucks without payin alot I was thinking about harbor frieght. Com
