I've purchased the new blower motor, but not sure where it is located and how to go about replacing.

The blower motor is either under the dash on the passanger side of the vehicle or under the hood (firewall) on the passanger side.

1.If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system.
2.Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3.If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, the accumulator must be relocated in order to service the blower motor. This is done by loosening the accumulator retaining band screw and disconnecting the accumulator inlet tube from the evaporator outlet tube. The accumulator can then be moved far enough to access and remove the blower motor.
4.Unplug the blower motor wire harness connector.
5.Remove the three screws that secure the blower motor and wheel assembly to the heater-A/C housing.
6.Rotate and tilt the blower motor unit as needed for clearance to remove the blower motor and wheel from the heater-A/C housing.

To install:

1.Align and install the blower motor and wheel assembly into the heater and A/C housing.
2.Install and tighten the three screws that secure the blower motor and wheel assembly to the heater-A/C housing. Tighten the mounting screws to 20 in. lbs. (2.2 Nm)
3.Plug in the blower motor wire harness connector.
4.If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, connect the accumulator inlet tube to the evaporator outlet tube and tighten the accumulator retaining band screw.
5.Connect the battery negative cable.
6.If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, evacuate the refrigerant system.
7.If the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, charge the refrigerant system.

1.Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2.Remove the instrument panel silencer from the passenger side of the instrument panel.
3.Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
4.Disconnect the blower motor wire harness connector from the blower motor power module or resistor , depending on how equipped.
5.Remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing .
6.Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing.

To install:

1.Position the blower motor into the HVAC housing.
2.Install the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 20 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm).
3.Connect the wire harness connector to the blower motor power module or resistor, depending on how equipped.
4.Install the glove box into the instrument panel.
5.Install the instrument panel silencer onto the passenger side of the instrument panel.
6.Reconnect the negative battery cable.

This could be due to many different things. First thing to check is the fuse and loose connections. If OK, test blower motor relay.

Hi, I suddenly did not have AC this summer. I took this to the mechanic, and he showed me that AC pump is not starting without a manual kick to it. Replaced it. Now the blow is coming to the car, but only for the first 15-20 minutes. Then the AC has no gas. Just air coming out. After 5-6 hours if you start the Jeep again, AC starts to come with full gas for the next 15-20 minutes. I took this to the same mechanic, and then he showed me the fan (I believe they call it the AC Fan) is not working. The big fan next to the Radiator works. But not the one inside. So he suggests to replace the Radiator A/C Fan.

Can you tell me if I am on the right path? Should I replace the Fan? Or the Fan is not working because of a fuse? How would I troubleshoot this clearly.

Thanks

Without know the reading for the a/c its hard to say. It could be overcharged or undercharged or you could have a defective compressor or one of the switches. So if you could get the high and low side readings and get back to me with those I could be better help.

If the a/c clutch is not engaging then that would need to be figured out first. If a relay isn't working or a fuse is blown then the a/c cooling fan won't come on as it will see no reason to. If you have a digital multi meter then what I would like you to do is unplug the wire to the ac clutch and then start the car turn the a/c on max and see there is voltage to one of the two wires let me know what you find and we will go from there. Also if the a/c clutch gap is to large the a/c won't come on either, it is an electro magnet that engages the clutch.

The AC/heater fan works on postion 4. The highest setting. On the first 3 settings nothing. Anyone have this problem. I guess the switch cannot be replaced. To replace the fan switch that you select your fan speed with, you must replace the whole unit that costs like $180. I was hoping it could be fixed by replacing the blower resistor for $65.

I can hear my air turning on and the heat when turned on but the blower will not run. I have replaced the blower resister and took out the blower and tested it and it runs. What could cause the blower not to get power?

Check for power arriving at the motor with the key on at the black and violet wire. If no power is found check fuse #6 40amp in the engine compartment fuse box and fuse #25 15amp in the under dash fuse box.

If both fuses are good, check the blower relay.

My blower motor quit working. There was no sound such as would indicate bad motor. I can't seem to find a fuse location in the owners manual for it. Is there one, and if so where would it be located

Welcome to the forum. Start by checking fuse 6 and 25. Also check for voltage on the fuse circuit. Fuse 6 is in the power distribution center under the hood.

Here is a guide and the fuse panel locations and identifications.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

I have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee, my blower motor on my ac quit working and I believe it is not getting power. I used a volt meter thing on the main power connection to motor and it says no power, checked the engine compartment fuse box and the fuse is good- I jammed the pointers of the meter into the fuse connection box and it didnt do anything. Question: what can I do to get AC!
