Hi, I was a mechanic for years, but now I am a broke writer. I'm stumped. I've got a 95 Jaguar xj6 with a 4.0. It stumbles badly just before it shifts. It acts like it has a governor or rev limiter on it. It has so many miles,214,000, that a shop will hav
I replaced the plugs, they were all ash white and showed no signs of miss firing. I replaced the fuel filter on the frame, but not in the tank. When it really acts up, it smells like burnt gunpowder. Once it changes, it runs perfectly.

Same answer as the other site. Have the Converters tested for restriction.
