The car won't go into first or second gear, it has no problems going in 3rd, 4th, 5th or reverse. Mechanic said its the cables and I need to get new ones from the dealership. I wanna know how to replace these cables on my own. Some diagrams, pictures would be very helpful. Also if there is something that I need to take precaution or extra care about.

Thanks,
Jas

I culd not find any pictures in our database for you nor there is any on youtube.

This is a straightforward fitter's job and the only precaution you need is "DO NOT twist the cables".

Remove the gear kno b and center console and you would be able to see whre the cables are attached at the gear shift. Remove the locking clip and washers to release the cables at the ends. At the housing of the cable, remove the locking clamp anf the cables are free from inside.

At firewall, remove the holding bolts of the bracket.

At transmission, repeat what you did with the internal connections and the cables can be pulled out.

Reverse procedures for installation.
