Are there codes on the airbag computer that can be cleared,if so how?

Hi:
Airbag light stays on my 1995 gmc 1500 Sierra.
Repaired loose ribbon in clock spring, light came off briefly but then came back on. Finally repaired, tests ok with ohm meter. Light still on. Checked sensors and they have an ohm reading, assuming they are ok.
Suggestions.... Are there airbag codes that need to be cleared, if so how do you do it?

SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

If system is functioning normally, air bag warning light flashes 7-9 times when ignition switch is turned to ON position and goes out.
Four possible warning light conditions can indicate a system failure:
Light does not illuminate at all.
Light comes on while vehicle is driven.
Light flashes 7-9 times, and remains on.
Light does not flash but remains lit when ignition is turned on.

SIR system faults are usually due to a disconnected/loose electrical connector caused by previous service on vehicle. Always check Yellow SIR connector at base of steering column for loose or damaged wiring.

After cycling the key after the fault is gone the light should flash then go off.Unless there is another fault? You will need a scan tool to read codes on that model thougb one that can read air bag codes.
