1995 Ford Taurus stationwagon. When car warms up it stalls when I come to a stop. It drives fine on the freeway but in city driving I have to keep it reved above 1000 rpms with the brakes applied at any stops. It idles fine if in neutral but stalls when I am trying to put it in gear it will also stall even when moving if rpms fall below 1000. I think it might be one of the fuel filters or a vacuum leak of some kind. What is your take and how can I trouble shoot it please?

Fuel filter is part of pump system and it's always pumping at the same pressure, it dont change. So if it goes down highway ok it's not the filter. Probably a vacuum leak. Have you looked for 1 at all? Typically cracked or loose hose or plastic pipe.
