How does using math calculations improve the performance of your car?

Im doing a project for school and the question is that I can find no where on the internet says how does using math calculations that mechanics use on cars help improve the performance of your car?

You can't find any information for youer question because there is no such thing as math can help vehicle performance.

Maths are used for calculating the engine size, compression, strokes etc and for the layman, it is not used. These are only used by engineers who are involved in devoloping engines.
