1995 ford explorer battery and alternator

help i have a 1995 ford explorer and the battery light came on we drove it home and it died then it would crank back we changed the battery and alternator and the truck runs fine except when we first crank it the battery light still comes on and the radio wont work after we run it a while the radio comes on and the battery light goes out help please

So do you have a multimeter to do some testing?The old alternator could have blown a fuse or fuse link.

In the under hood fuse box fuse 17 is for the alternator.A fuse link is a length of wire that is rated to open at a set amperage draw to make that power or ground source stop like a fuse does you would need a multimeter to test a fusable link.Also a mutimeter to see what your alternator is putting out see if the power is going into the alternator.Do you have a multimeter because your going to need one.

no i dont have one but on the way home today i pulled in the driveway and the radio cut off and the heater and then the alternator charge went on high and the battery and abs light came on but the card did not cut off its weird

If you had a multimeter we could see what voltage the alternator was charging at when the battery light come's on and all this stuff quit's working.
