My car was stalling out and the RPMs would rev up and down by 100 when driving for long periods on the highway. I changed the battery and the car had a marked difference in power. Now the car is vibrating noticeably when in park and accelerating. What could cause this since this was not present before the battery was changed? Thank you.

Disconnecting the battery causes the computer to lose memories-it probably has to relearn it itself

It could be that the computer may need to go through a relearn process if the battery was out for a period of time. Also, the idle issue sounds like one of two issues. The idle air control valve is responsible for maintaining a steady idle. That could be going bad. Also, check for vacuum leaks around the engine that could cause a rough idle. Finally, drive the vehicle (if it is safe) and see if it fixes itself after the computer does its job. If it doesn't disconnect and reconnect the battery again to see if that will reset. Keep in mind, it could take nearly 100 miles for the computer to cycle through all its modes.

One last thought, if it doesn't reset, you may need to have the computer flashed by a dealer.
