2300 miles ago I had the hydraulic clutch replaced. Yesterday I was going down interstate in 5th gear and the truck acted like it had no power. Could not accelerate and 60 mph was max. Put in 4th and ran fine. Back in 5th and no power again. Road was flat. Got out and clutch smelled hot. What could be going on here?

Hey!

I have the EXACT same truck. 1995 K1500 Ext Cab 4wd 5-speed.

When you were trying to accelerate, did the RPM rise while the speed remained steady? I know this truck has a tach. ;)

The entire clutch was replaced, right? Sounds like either the clutch disc is burned up already or the clutch is not releasing fully.

More than likely, the clutch disc is burned up. Do you tow with your truck?
