My car will not crank at all

The other day i attempted to start my car only for it to make a clicking noise. It wasnt the battery nor the starter because both have recently been replaced. I attempted a couple more times and smoke started coming from under the steering column. After a closer look i noticed that there is a thick yellow wire that the casen has been melted like there is a short. What can it be?

you have a harness issue. the yellow wire could be the wire to the starter. the reason for this failure must be identified before repairing. it could be the ignition switch or the wire is rubbing somewhere causing it to short.

not a simple repair.
