When I start up my car in the cold my engine makes this ticking noise which looks like its coming from a belt. After the car is heated up the noise is gone. Is this normal or do I need to replace it?

A little noise when cold is usually an indication of a loose belt or the belt has hardened.
Check the tension and readjust if necessary.
Check the belt condition. If it is bad, you would beed to replace it.

IF the noise is a belt, check its condition. IF there is a tear or something on it, then replace it. NOTE: Usually a belt will make noise cold or warm.
