Locked Wheel

Greetings: I have recently come back from deployment and my car was parked with the emergency parking break on for a year. Long story short, starting is not a problem but my left rear tire will not release and I believe that it is the emergency break on that one tire not being released. Do you have any recommendations or points that I can try. I have attempted to rock it back and forth and even drive it a few feet (no luck in loosening it), I have taken off the wheel and I do not even see a break pad so it maybe something inside the wheel housing.

give the backing plate at the rear a good shot with a hammer to release the e brake. it works most of the time. if it does not, you can try hitting the drum on the flat spot with a hammer to try to get it to release.
