LT1 won't start

I have a 94 firebird lt1. It has been sitting for about 5 months due to the optispark went bad. I have now replaced it and put everything back together and it won't start. It will crank and I can hear a popping noise come out of the tail pipe but it won't turn over. I don't have cats, which may have something to do with the popping noise. Any ideas?

Check your compression you may have thrown a rocker or have a stuck valve. Then check your fuel pressure and make sure you are getting a good spark at plugs.
