Car knocks off going down the road

After it knocks off, it will not turn over when attempting to restart. Car still has full electrical power, ie, horn, lights etc., but usually it will restart and run again with no problems until the next time it repeats the pattern. Have installed new battery and all terminals are tight and secure. I am at a loss.

Not turning over could be a starter solenoid going bad.
Check spark and fuel pressure when the problem occurs.

Per two other mechanics, a starter solenoid will not cause a car to knock off going down the road. I am not pleased with the response.

You're right. BUT, AS MY RESPONSE STATED it will cause the engine to not turn over.

When the problem occurs, is the coil getting power? Is it generating a spark? Have you checked timing and compression? Constant oil pressure? Fuel pressure proper? Vacuum leaks? Scanned for codes? Verified codes? Checked ignition switch?
