1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse bad timing belt
1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse mileage: 74,000. My daughters car has a bad timing belt. It has several teeth missing on belt (6"). Since it is out of sequence one to line up for belt replacement, how do I line up all crankshaft and camshaft timing marks for new belt and set #1 at TDC (which is #1). This happened while idling and stopped and does not appear to have damaged the valves, even though you could not turn the crank clockwise. I cannot afford to have a shop do repair and I have already purchased the belts.

A Mitchell or Chilton auto repair manual will have diagrams showing timing belt marks. The manuals also give step-by-step instructions.
