The battery died from lights left on overnight. During recharging I activated the PATS system (passive anti-theft) so that the car will not turn over and start. How do I reset this system so I can start the car.

You need to have a dealer reset the system. They are the only ones that have the proper test equipment to see what is causing the problem. As far as getting it to start, if you leave the key in the run position for around 10 minutes, it should bypass the security system.

Mike,

I need you to start a new thread. We are trying to keep them specific to one topic. I hope you understand. Also, please provide specific vehicle info and exactly what is happening.

I hope you understand.

Joe
