Radiator hose replacement

Replacing the lower radiator hose on my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I find a coil spring inside the old hose. The NAPA auto parts store where I bought the new hose advises that new hoses do not require such springs but I can reinstall in the new hose if I like. Would you recommend reinstalling or leaving it out of the new hose?
