I have a 1994 trooper 3.2 I checked the radiator and hoses. They look fine. When I started the engine I heard a noise but didn't think much of it. When the engine got warm enough to turn on the heat, it was blowing out cool air. I pulled over and noticed it was leaking pretty fast from the the front of the motor area, I had a similar problem with my caravan and that turned out to be a metal pipe that ran across the top of the motor. It was the gasket or something like that. Could this be my problem and if so how can I fix this myself?

It sounds more like it could be the water pump your best bet is to get a cooling system pressure tester and see where the leak is.

When I try to put more coolant in the radiator it runs out just as quick as I put it in from the front of the engine area. But very difficult to tell were it originates from.

I would suspect a lower intake manifold leak. It' very common on those. You need to pressurize the system and pay close attention to the intake area.
