Rear main seals leaks are from the engine and would not affect the transmission. Replacement of the seal requires the transmission to be removed and the book time is 7.1 to 7.4 hours if equipped with power steering.

Labor rates varies region to region so you need to check local prices.

The seal is listed at $16.83.

If the oil level is maintained, it would not affect the engine. Stop leaks additives etc might be a temporary reprieve and how long it last or wether it works or not would depend on the extent of the seal condition.

Personally I don't recommend any additives for engines.

Thanks but would any additives harm the engine. Like: Lucas, Bars, would they harm an engine?

Additives do not harm engines but after prolonged use, they can accumulate and when that occurs, they can cause restrictions lubricating lines. that would cause damage to the engine.
