1994 Holden Apollo Repair Question

Auto stalling problem
Hi, I have an auto Holden Apollo (94' I think) and it occasionally stalls when I stop at lights. Just as it reaches the lights it usually sort of stutters before it stalls Is there anything that I can do from home without taking it to the Mechanic that could possibly stop the stalling?

Clean the throttle body and the idle air port valve, check for any unresolved fault codes as well, start here.
