1994 GMC C2500 Repair Question

Battery cable
I have 1994 GMC 2500 350 I installing a positive battery cable that purchased from NAPA. It has main wire that goes to the starter and the two fusible links cables. My question is that I need to know were those wires go, I thought one went to the alternator and one to the electrical block on the firewall? Thanks
