1994 Geo Prizm automatic Wont start. I have replaced the battery and main fuse. I now have headlights but it wont crank. Car ran fine until I left the key on for two days. Also headlights do not dim when I try to start it.

What is it doing cranking over and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing when you turn key to cranking position??

I turn the key and nothing happens. No crank. No dash lights No buzzers nothing. but I have headlights and they don't dim when I turn the key.

Doube check battery condition and connections if okay-Check the starter motor, park and neutral switch and ignition switch.

I know this was forever ago but I'm wondering what the outcome was, my dad has exactly the same issue. Won't crank, headlights only..just replaced the battery & starter.

You have had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight.

Also you have a multi meter to do some testing?

Battery is new that was the first thing we replaced & then when that didn't do it we tried a new starter but still nothing.

Do you have a multi meter to do some testing?We have to do some testing for sure to trace the problem.

Also do you have the 1.6 or 1.8L engine?

Yes on the multimeter & it's a 1.6L engine.

With the car in park with the key in the start position you should have power to the black wire and black wire with a white stripe at the neutral safety switch?

It's on top of the transmission under the battery.
