1994 Ford Ranger • 200,000 miles
I have a 94 4.0 ford ranger 5 speed transmission. Was driving on interstate about 65 miles per hour. Just did put it in fifth gear then out of no where the truck acts like it lost power for a sec then pop. Seemed like the motor locked up made it to the side of the interstate by skidding didn't know what was really happing so didn't think to push in clutch. Truck died turned over so not locked up. Started the truck, he gear shift is hard to move around so had to jamb in 1st gear pos tried to take off felt like rear end was locked up, but in fact it seems to be in fifth gear. But if I leave in neutral pos the truck takes off fine in 1st gear but cannot find an other gear won't go in any other gear pos while moving. Makes a sound like to pieces of smooth steel just touching not the grinding sound when u try to put in rev while moving forward. But if the truck is turned off shifter will go in all pos but when u start it it's like it's in fifth. And clutch works fine. Any clue
