Ford Ranger Axle Problem
How do I figure out what front axle is under my truck. I have found the axle code on the door, but isn't that just for the rear axle? The axle code is H9, which is 8.8" with 3.55 gears... Right???
It is a 91 F-150 XLT 4x4 Larriot, with a 300 inline 6. This is a parts truck and I'm wondering if I would be better off leaving the 9" with 4.11 gears and Dana 44 under my 87 Bronco ll or should I swap them out. I think the rear is definitely going to stay as it is, but I'm curious about the front.
Hopefully I will be dropping my 302 into the Bronco this weekend and I'll have it in the woods soon
