Thump. Thump. Thump.

There is a loud, thumping sound coming from the front left side tire. When I let go of the wheel, my car will shift hard to the right. My whole car, including the steering wheel shakes when I drive at any speed. What could it possibly be?

The front left tire most likely has a knot on it. It is defective, and replacing both front tires will correct this problem.

I concur!

Barely lifting the wheel off of the ground, then spinning it, when it drags on the ground, that's the high spot. If it's not already obvious and large enough to see.

It is very DANGEROUS! To continue to drive on it!

Thank you both! It never occured to me to think it was the tire. Only because I had looked at it and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. My first thought after that would be the hub bearing.
