1994 Ford F-150 Repair Question

What might cause a grounding problem on a 1994 F-150 i just replaced the transmission in the truck and the starter is hitting the flywheel not turning over i go and try to start it and it instantly shuts everything down then powers back up i dont know wha

Is it the same type of transmission? Were there any shims with the starter? Are you sure the flywheel is tight? Starter good?
