The front doors lock by themselves when you open the door from the exterior handle.

Its very frustrating, and now I have to carry my spare key in my pocket so I don't lock myself out. Again. SO when you open either of the front two doors, the button on the top of the door panel where you push to manually lock that door drops, and the door locks. It started as an intermittent problem, and has become increasingly more frequent, until the drivers side does that all the time, and the passenger side almost every time. The driver's side door now doesn't always like to unlock with the key unless you turn the key back and forth a few times and eventually it will open. Its not the lock cylinder, that turns fine. And sometimes you have to push the manual lock button down in order for the door to remain unlocked even when opening it from the inside. Any Ideas?

Most probably the door switches for both doors are faulty. I would suggest checking them first.

The doors don't lock by the power locks. It feels like there's a linkage or something hanging up in the door, so when you open the door from the outside handle, and let go of the handle, the manual lock button (not the power lock) drops down and the door locks itself. It doesn't have anything to do with the power locks, because the problem is just on the one door, it doesn't lock all the doors.

That indicates a fault with the handle linkages. Something could have worn off, gone out of adjustment or a retaining spring has broken resulting in the locking lever being too loose.

You would need to remove the door panel to check the linkages.
