Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Also, have you checked to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugging? When was the last tune up? Was the rotor in good condition?

The rotor will only go on one way, so you won't hurt the timing. They must be thinking you are removing the distributor. Let me know how things work out for you. And by the way, you're welcome. I'm glad to help.

So after changing fuel filter still was having same issue. When I fueled my car I added some of that Lucas tune up in a bottle, seemed to drive a little better. After driving for about 30minutes stopped for about 15minutes to do something got back in car started up an couple minutes later same thing car felt as losing power again rpm sticking then shot up an car raced up then back down an up again it only does this on occassion. Just feels as car is just ready to die out as it happens, very nerve racking esp when my commute is 30 minutes away.

Okay so after researching some more I started looking under the hood found that the bottom hose to where air filter goes had a hole in it at moment had to use electrical tape to wrap til I can get new hose, guess I will find out if that may have been part of reason. Hoping it is but we will see.

Tricia:

I hope that helps, but I have to question that a leak like that would cause a loss of power. You have me stumped on this one. It sounds like a weak fuel pump, but you replaced that. Has the check engine light ever come on? Now I'm starting to question the crank sensor. Have you checked that?

Ok it was fuel filter that I replaced dont know why I put fuel pump. Car is runnin bit better but replacing hose today so wont know if it will be 100percent til I do. Yes my engine lite comes on solid but not all the time then when I shut car off an turn back on its off again.I have someone coming to hook tester up today to it he seems to think it is probably something little an doesnt want me to start soaking money into it where its not needed lol. But as said car is accelerating much better even with taping hose.I will let you know what happens today after it gets tested again ty for your help an patience with me. Not many willing to take the time so its appreciated alot.
