1994 Chevrolet Silverado Repair Question

My truck wont start and a i need help can u help me?
So i went to start my z71 1500 chevy pickup, and it a wire started smoking under the dash. i dont think the wires are a problem, but when i went and took out the starter there was a big wire and a small wire. the small wire was all eatin up.. could that be the problem or is it something bigger?

Find the smoked wire under the dash see where it goes. Repair the burnt wire @ the starter and see if it starts.check under the dash to find what wire is smoking
