1994 Chevrolet Astro Repair Question

Chevrolet Astro Door Problem
Trying to open back latch to change tail light bulb...latch will not release.....a mechanic tried to blow the lock with air compressor and that didnt release it...what can i do so i can change my bulbs?????????help please

the inner panel on the door has to be removed to gain access to the release for the door.
