1994 Cadillac El Dorado Repair Question

Starting disabled
1993 cadillac eldarodo starting disabled due to the secrurity system ,display says remove key an wait 3 min. afther count down display says start car. i changed key with resister an celinder still getting the same readout car wont start.

You replaced the cylinder, and the key? Was there a procedure performed to correctly determine the resistor value(VATS code) on the original key. If you used the wrong value key, it can be as simple as getting the correct value key. I have see circumstances where someone has replaced the cylinder improperly, and within the first key cycle, cut the wires rendering the cylinder in the same state it was replaced for.
