Doors filled with water and door locks stopped working. Came out to the car one morning and noticed a burning
odor in car, I had to remove 30 amp fuse for door locks, power seat, rear defroster. Fuse was extremely hot and burning odor filled the car. Removed fused and tried to replace with new fuse. Seconds after inserting new 30 amp fuse, smoke started pouring out through glove compartment and dashboard. Have permanently removed fuse, no door locks, power seat or rear defroster.

One thing here. I f you got fuses from Harbor freight pull all of them out because they don't blow like they are supposed to. They will only be colored and no numbers will be on them. If the panel I s/was smoking then the fuse box isn't any good and you probably almost have two wires together. It should be looked at so as to not have a fire. With the fuse box smoking it has melted somewhat and is not stable. That has to be fixed first then you can check for where wiring damage is that is causing the problem.

Thanks for the info hmac300, I don't know where the fuses came from as most were in the car when I bought it but I'm going to take it to a mechanic and have the fuse box checked. One thing I forgot to mention was when I bought the car the battery was always dying, I noticed that the clock stayed on when I shut the motor so I thought that might be draining the battery and pulled that fuse out and battery has been fine since.

Clocks don't use that much energy when the car is off it's probably something else.
