1993 Toyota MR2 Jumpy Tach needle

When reving or driving, at around 2k to 3k rpm tach needle jumps and car hesitates. At about 4k rpm its smooth. I have not checked anything yet besides spark plugs and they look OK. I will change them and see if it helps.

Usually a jumpy tachometer is associated with the ignition coil. Have that tested.

Hi I checked it with a multimeter and it read 0.5ohms. Not sure what its supposed to be at. What else do I need to check on it?

You need to check the primary and secondary resistance as per diagrams.

Hey I changed out the ignition coil and still the same thing is happening. Im going to try the igniter now
