I have Suzuki vitara with a automatic gear box, and when I drive the gear does not change. what is the problem and solution?

I have Suzuki grand vitara with a automatic gear box manufactured in 1993. When I drive it the the gear does not change or it does not change the speed.
Thus, would you please tell me the problem and propose solution.
