My check gases sign is on, the battery charge signal shot up to "H" high, and my gas gauge stopped working

I had just gotten gas (which I filled the tank) and driving from the gas station I realized my gas light popped on with the battery charge gauge now on "H" high and my check gases red sign showing in the dash. The car drove home ok, it still ran fine so I checked all the fuses and they were all fine. Could any you car pros give any advise on this. Thank you in advance.

Have the charging system check to rule out a failing alternator-start here
